Mr Swan
Mr Swan was having a little wash by the shore, just as we were walking past. Peaceful. I am laughing but I was seriously hoping Mr Swan would not come and bite me...

All the yellows
Lots of yellow around over the last few weeks. On its way out though, as strong winds and rain have joined forces lately... The last three pictures are a tad fuzzy, taken by Pete's phone from a bit of distance, apparently.

Last (but not least) leaves

Last (but not least) leaves
After a week of rain and wind, the pretty leaves are on their way down...so are the temperatures! But if this means reasons to go out to catch the light, admire the colours and wear wooly hats, it is not so bad after all :-)

Wood, fire and fun

Wood, fire and fun
It is autumn and it is beautiful in the forest! We took our picnic (mostly sausages, bread and marshmallows...) and lit a fire on top of a big rock - what a feast! Food, even the most simple (!) type, always tastes better outside :-)

Our wooden house in the woods
Somehow this season seems to fit out house very well: the shingles match the autumal colours really well outside and from inside we can admire all the lovely leaves of the trees surrounding us. We are settling down, I think...

Riding beautifully
It has been raining a lot lately. Mainly at night but also copiously during the day. As a result, giant puddles everywhere, which are great fun to walk through, if you are like Poppy, high up on a white horse... glad I had my wellies on! The colour are...
